Reading schools and charities benefit from tech donation.

We've donated 60 iPads to local schools and charities in the Reading area through non-profit organisation, Connect Reading.

This donation follows an upgrade at our head office in Green Park, leaving devices that were no longer needed and that could benefit the community.

Connect Reading redistributed the iPads across eight schools and charities, supporting various initiatives such as:

  1. Katesgrove, Southcote and Earley St Peter’s primary schools in Reading will receive some of the iPads for teachers and pupils to use in class
  2. Reading volunteers at charity ABC to Read will use them to help track reading progress
  3. CCA, a charity which provides support for individuals and households in need of emergency furniture, will use the iPads to track gift aid from their donations
  4. GRAFT Thames Valley will use the ipads to help job-seeking adults with additional needs to search for employment
  5. No 5 Reading will install the iPads in their counselling waiting rooms to offer online resources
  6. Refugee Support Group & Together UK will offer the iPads to families whose children have no access to a computer

Lorraine Briffitt, CEO at Connect Reading, expressed her gratitude, sharing:

"It's still not sunk in that so many iPads are going to be sat in local schools being used by local children. Thanks PepsiCo and to your IT team for making this happen".

We've supported Connect Reading for over six years, helping them to connect local businesses and charities to share resources and information, benefiting those in need. This donation follows the successful Giving Tree campaign, where PepsiCo colleagues donated gifts to the Royal Berkshire Hospital at Christmas.
